Prensados

Only 400 Factory Press boxes exist. The blend is quite exquisite and required years of patience and planning. Let me explain. The filler tobaccos are from 1997; a combination of Cuban-seed Corojo leaves from Litto™s private farm in the Dominican Republic. The binder, a dark, Dominican-grown Sumatra leaf, has been aging for 8 years. And last, but certainly not least, the wrapper, also from Litto™s farm. Dark as night, this choice leaf is a thick Connecticut broadleaf maduro that has been aging for an astonishing 10 years. These vintage tobaccos are carefully shaped into a monstrous 60 ring gauge, then severely pressed into a flat, Wafe-like parejo, giving it a thickness closer to a 40-ring. With a sizeable length of 6.5 inches, this densely packed cigar (named Prensado) requires at least 2 hours of your time to appreciate it™s robust, full-flavored character filled with smooth hints of mocha and a pleasantly sweet spiciness. Medium-bodied and balanced, this slow-burning cigar really is a treat, despite its odd appearance.

Just like the blend, the box is a remarkable piece of work. Designed to store 120 of these sharply pressed Prensados, this Spanish cedar cabinet style press neatly stacks 10 removable trays - each tray holds 12 Prensados.
